Review: Xero Breckenridge Boots
First impressions
These boots although not an unusual looking style are quite a new direction for Xero. On first impressions they look like a cross between a conventional Doc Marten boot and Vivo Gobi. These look much more hard-wearing than the Gobi, without compromising groundfeel. They also look nicer than the Be Lenka equivalent. Perfect for teenage girls who want a boot that looks cool and more conventional.

Xero have really grown over the years. Starting with some of the original Barefoot sandals, they recognised the demand for boots and shoes. These are the first boots I have seen that you wouldnt actually recognise as Xero, as they dont have the signature strip/strap across them. Based in the USA, this isnt a problem, as Happy Little Soles are stocking them, and bringing Xero to the UK community.
Materials
Premium full grain leather upper, that they say will develop a sheen over time. This makes the boots very durable. The buttery soft leather liner, with a mesh lining in the vamp aims to help mitigate the hot toe box experience common in other boots. So far this seems true.

Sole/insole
The boots are zero drop, with a thin flexible sole. 4mm zero drop outsole with 3mm lugs and 3mm insole. Stack Height is 8.5mm without insole.
The dual direction chevron tread is very grippy, and perfect for wet weather.
Fit
These are wide. Suitable for medium and wide feet. They have a nice wide toebox. They look wider at the toes to me than other Xero Narrow ankles-These fit narrow ankles well, as they can be adjusted with the lacing. In fact my daughter loosens them a bit for her own comfort. Instep-Good for high insteps. Weight They are very lightweight, each weighs just 317.5g. Feeling pretty invisible on your feet.
Sizing
UK HLS – 4-8 To me this is wide range sizing. Suitable for some junior children towards women with larger feet.
Overall impression
I think they are lovely stylish boots, perfect for a teenage girl who is starting to care about what she wears compared to other people. She keeps them clean and enjoys wearing them in town and keeping them for best. They are comfy, warm and not too “unusual” by BF standards. Pricing and obtaining £150 From Happy Little Soles HERE.
