Origins
Founded in Mallorca in 1975, Camper has a shoemaking heritage that dates back to 1877 when Antonia Fluxa gathered the most forward thinking craftspeople together to produce original shoes using the finest materials and the latest machinery. Antonio’s grandson formed Camper in 1975, and to this day, Camper remains a family business with a deep understanding of how shoes should feel.
In 2022, Camper become B Corp Certified, meeting the highest verified standards of social and environmental performance. But finding better ways to do business isn’t new for Camper. Their entire journey has been progressive, finding ways to do things better, combining their shoemaking heritage with a passion for creating long-lasting, responsible products.

Camper Peu does not fully meet these criteria. Instead, it offers a foot-friendly, flexible alternative that sits closer to natural movement than many mainstream options, without being fully barefoot.
What’s New for 2026
Camper continues to innovate. For 2026, we have expanded our selection in the Peu range, with a wider selection of styles for toddlers with their First Walker shoes and sandals.
Designed for those early adventures outdoors, Camper Kids Peu First Walker shoes far lighter and more flexible than many traditional baby shoes, with a lovely wide sole shape that makes them an easy winner for everyday wear.
And as always, Camper brings the fun. Think playful fruity designs, bold pops of colour, and standout metallics alongside their more classic styles. The sandals are a new highlight this season, made of beautifully soft leather with a adjustable fastening for a great fit.
Camper Peu for adults range sit consistently on our best seller list. Not strictly barefoot, but zero drop, lightweight, and flexilbe they offer an easy move away from stiff, traditional footwear, towards a more natural way of moving, without going fully minimal. Their minimalist Wabi slippers are a popular choice for when you need a little protection indoors.
Fit & Sizing
Camper Peu works best for average to slightly wider feet, thanks to its relaxed shape and softer construction. It offers more room than many traditional shoes, though it’s not as wide or fully foot-shaped as some barefoot brands.
In terms of sizing, we generally find Camper Peu to come up true to size, but with a slightly more accommodating, forgiving fit. Compared to our more minimal barefoot styles at Happy Little Soles, they may feel a little more structured and less generous in the toe box.
If you’re used to barefoot brands, you may notice a slightly closer fit, but for many, this still strikes a comfortable balance between space and everyday practicality.
