Origo is a fashion‑forward barefoot brand that proves trend‑led design and natural movement can, and should, work together.
Origins
Origo grew from a personal journey in 2018, when founders Cristina and Diego noticed how barefoot play brought balance and confidence to their premature twins, a contrast to the struggles they faced in conventional shoes.
Drawing on memories of their childhood in Colombia, where walking barefoot was the norm, they set out to design footwear that supported natural development without compromising everyday style.

The couple established their workshop in León, Mexico, partnering with skilled artisans who share their commitment to quality and responsibility.
Origo has taken a measured approach to sustainability, focusing on material choices rather than slogans. The brand works with natural leather from Leather Working Group–certified or vegetable‑tanned tanneries, uses cotton canvas and plant‑based components in its soles, and keeps production local to reduce unnecessary transport and waste.

Origo At Happy Little Soles
Our Origo edit reflects how the brand works best in real life. The focus is on everyday shapes that people reach for repeatedly, that means low‑profile trainers, easy-to-wear summer footwear and a selection of trending styles that keep the collection fresh.
The Adventurer Boot is Origo’s take on a classic leather boot, reworked with barefoot principles in mind. Available in both black and brown, it’s a genuinely unisex style that works just as well with everyday outfits as it does for longer days on your feet.
Huarache Sandals & Woven Shoes take inspiration from traditional huarache sandals, reworked to suit modern wear. They’re light, breathable and flexible, making them particularly good for warmer weather.
Many styles are available in two widths, including the Huarache by Anya, developed in collaboration with barefoot footwear reviewer Anya, which gives more people the chance to wear a woven sandal without sacrificing fit or comfort.
Everyday Trainer is Origo's modern barefoot classic, with soft pebbled leather, a clean white sole, and a shape that suits all occasions. Flat, flexible, and foot-shaped, it's an easy shoe that supports natural movement in a low-key way.
Size And Fit
Origo shoes are designed around a natural foot shape, with a flat sole and a wider forefoot than you’d find in conventional footwear. That extra space allows the toes to spread and move as they should, without the shoe feeling loose or oversized.
In practice, Origo tends to suit narrow to medium‑width feet, and the fit is closer through the midfoot and heel than some barefoot brands. This helps the shoe sit neatly on the foot and keeps the profile streamlined. Most people take their usual size, though we always recommend checking measurements, particularly if you’re new to barefoot shoes or sit between sizes.
Origo’s huarache sandals and woven styles are available in two widths, with a standard fit and a wider option that gives more space through the forefoot. This includes the Huarache by Anya, developed in collaboration with barefoot footwear reviewer Anya, and designed to offer the look of a traditional woven sandal with a genuinely foot‑shaped, flexible fit.
Origo’s Mary Janes follow the same foot‑shaped approach as the rest of the range, with room through the toes and a flat, flexible sole. The adjustable strap helps secure the fit across the midfoot, making them a good option for everyday wear when you want something a little more polished without sacrificing comfort or natural movement.
What’s New
The latest Everyday Sneaker (both leather and canvas) features a slightly wider fit and a more refined profile. Sneaker soles now include a soy-based biopolymer blended with thermoplastic rubber, an update that improves flexibility while reducing environmental impact. New colourways in olive canvas and amber leather offer subtle versatility for daily wear.
Why We Love Origo
What we love about Origo is how confidently they sit within current fashion. The shapes are on point, the silhouettes feel relevant, and nothing looks like a compromise for comfort. They’re an easy choice for anyone who cares about style but doesn’t want to ignore how their shoes affect the way they move.
Origo proves that trend‑led design and foot health don’t have to be at odds. Giving the toes space to splay and the foot freedom to move is just as important in everyday fashion as it is in specialist footwear, and Origo manages to do both without one cancelling out the other.
